This article delves into the discussion about “Narcissistic Parents, their child’s Mental Health & the Healing Process”. How does a narcissistic parent (either mother or father) affect their child’s mental health, career and relationship(s) later in life and how one can get rid of this mental and emotional abuse?

First of all, we need to study who do we call a narcissistic parent?

Narcissistic Parent

The narcissistic parent is all about “them”, even though a good amount of self-love is crucial so we may respect and care for ourselves and also demonstrate to others how we should be treated. The narcissistic parent is tremendously self-absorbed and think they are entitled to that. One rule applies to them, and a different rule applies to everyone else.

They lack empathy for everyone but themselves, whether they are a grandiose narcissist who has to be the loudest or shine the brightest or the weak type who competes about who has suffered the most. Sometimes it combines the top-down and bottom-up strategies. They might even find it enjoyable to watch their own children suffer as they carry out their cunning plans.
