“Motherhood” is a beautiful yet life-changing and challenging time for new mommies. Multiple changes occur during and after this transition which also includes emotions and feelings of a mom.

How does it feel having “baby blues”?

You might feel very overwhelmed, sad, teary, sleepless and fatigued and it is considered “normal”. These are commonly called “baby blues”. Baby blues, however, do not mean you are having a disorder as these are considered natural.

What do we mean by Postpartum Mood Disorders?

Mommies may experience certain bodily and mental changes that are more than just “baby blues”. These feelings are of physical, emotional and hormonal in nature and can alter the way you think, feel and behave. Often these changes occur in the first year following the child birth. These spectrum of behavioral and emotional changes are known as Postpartum Mood Disorders. They can be of mild, moderate or severe in nature and are very common in mothers.
